After a long snow-and-ice-induced hiatus from agility training, B and I are finally getting back on track. It's a good thing, too, because I entered her in her first trial the first weekend in May. It may be a bit premature - she will just barely be old enough to be eligible for competition. And while she is doing wonderfully with everything on my agility field, I don't know how she will do at a different location, on different equipment, with lots of strange dogs around. But if nothing else, it will give me a better idea of where we truly are, and I think I need to know so that I can plan our next steps.
We also slacked a bit on the socialization over the winter, but B does have a few new friends. One of her friends came over to play today - this sweetie is about the mellowest puppy I have ever met. It was hot and sunny out today - one of the hottest days so far this spring. There was some running....

And some playing....
And then some standing around....
And then some lounging...
And finally, it wasn't too long before everyone was chillaxin' in the grass (look at all that long green grass!!) Z and L were parked nearby in the shade, too - I guess it was an all round lazy sort of day.
Still, everyone had fun, even if it was low-key. B has improved so much. It's almost hard to think back about where we started on this journey. I know we still have a long way to go, but I'm so proud of how much we have already accomplished!

B looks like she's having a great time.
Like her, I'm glad the warm weather is here and it's time to play.
You're back.
I figured you survived the winter, but it's nice to have confirmation.
Yay! spring time! I am jealous of your green grass!
B and friend look like they have spring fever, too.
Can't wait for B;s first trial report!
I'm thinking that it might have been almost a year since you adopted B? In any case, time flies and she looks physically like a grown up! Your photos capture her playful puppy nature.
Good luck with the trial. I bet that she'll do great!
Look at that green grass. My heart yearns for some... but we're still in a white world and will be for a while longer!
Welcome back! It's good to see B again and with a new friend! Yes, even I, being such a cold weather lover, is so loving this spring...
I think we are all breathing a sigh of relief that winter is over. Loved the playful dogs. I think it's great to enter B when the expectations are not high. Can't wait to see how things go.
I'm glad to see you back. It's pretty crazy that spring is already here, but I am enjoying the lack of snow that it has brought.
I hope you talk more about B's first trial - as you know, we're only just getting started, so I love to hear about new dogs (though you're a much more experienced handler than I am).
I love the standing around photo best. Too cute. I'm so jealous of your green. Everything here is still brown, brown, brown ... at least the parts NOT still covered in snow.
Glad you made it through another winter!
B is really growing up, isn't she?! I am looking forward to your report on her first agility trial.
Looks like a great dogs day.
I love that the grass is greening up too! Spring has sprung and it's a wonderful change of season!
Looks like tons of fun.. and you have lovely green grass too!
Just dropped by to say hi! Hi! :o)
Very nice.....
